Tees for the Kids

O. and E. need more winter shirts, so I turned to my favorite pattern, the Patrick Curved Raglan, changing the sleeve to a solid long sleeve.

I didn't make any other changes to the boy's.  For my skinny girl, I used Bonnie's suggestion of tracing the 2T (a size smaller than her usual) in width and 3T in length.  The cherry print is a super-stretchy rib knit that was a pain to sew, and my lettuce hems leave something to be desired.  I should have either gotten some red Wooly Nylon to put in the loopers or just used white.  I think it's pretty cute on her, though!

A less than enthusiastic model
O. now has three PCRs in his current wardrobe, so I think I'd better choose a new pattern for his next shirt.  I'm thinking about the Charlie as a hoodie.  He has requested that the next shirt be plain, but I think I can get away with a lined hood....

  1. Super cute, Sarah! I love the red sleeves, but you know me and my slight obsession with red on girls. So pretty...makes those blue eyes "pop".

  2. Do you know of a good non curved raglan sleeve pattern?

  3. What size? I like the one in Kwik Sew Sewing for Toddlers. Or if you want instant gratification, I've heard nothing but good things about this one: https://www.youcanmakethis.com/info/featured-products/all-the-rage-raglans.htm

  4. Why do I feel like I looked in my KSFT before posting that question and didn't see a raglan? oh well. BTW, I love the Charlie pattern. The hoodie was kind of fussy what with the kangaroo pocket and lining the hood. Otherwise, it sews up very quickly. Can't wait to see yours!
